The Westmont Swim Club coaching staff has over 60 years of combined coaching experience with numerous state champions and over 50 swimmers going on to compete in college. All coaches are college graduates and almost all have swam Collegiately for four years.

Adam enters his seventh year as Westmont’s Head Swim Coach. Adam has been coaching swimming for over nine years and has coached multiple state champions, junior national qualifiers and a Olympic trial qualifier in that period. In Adam’s first season with Westmont the team finished 2nd at the Illinois Senior Championship meet, with the men winning the male side.
Adam attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School where he was a three sport athlete. He swam on Stagg's varsity swimming team for four years; three year state qualifier; All State senior year; school record holder in the 50-yard freestyle.
Adam was a two year NCAA Division I swimmer for the University of Northern Iowa. During his freshmen year the team was the Midwest Classic Champions and became the first sophomore in team history to be voted captain. At Northern Iowa Adam was trained under strength Coach Jim Kramer, voted as one of the best NCAA strength trainers in the nation who later became the head of the US national weightlifting team at the US Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. Adam then transferred and swam two years as a NCAA Division I full scholarship swimmer for the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Junior year the team became the Horizon League Conference Champions. Adam held team records in the 50-yard Freestyle, the 200-yard Freestyle Relay and the 200-yard Medley Relay. In his senior year, he was honored with the Leadership Award by a vote of his teammates. |

Scott is starting his seventh year as a coach for Westmont (WEST). He coaches the senior/National groups with a progressive/energetic philosophy derived from combining the styles of all the coaches for which he swam. Scott has the goal of bringing swimmers to the national level of competition.
Scott’s long association with club swimming began at the age of five when he joined HWSA. He competed there for six years before joining RAF, where he swam until joining WEST in 1994. Scott swam with WEST until 2001 on a very talented team full of junior/senior national and Olympic trial qualifiers that was coached by Dave Krotiak.
Scott attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School where he was a four sport athlete (swimming, cross country, track, water polo). He was a four year varsity swimmer, serving as the team captain his senior year. Scott was a three year state qualifier. Scott was Stagg’s 1997 valedictorian and was named the “most outstanding” male graduate.
Scott went to college at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on the south side of Chicago on academic/swimming scholarships. While at IIT, Scott competed all four years under Dennis Matuch. He was a four year NAIA national qualifier, becoming an All-American his last two years by finishing 3rd in the 200 backstroke. Scott was the team captain his senior year.
Scott is currently working in Naperville at Packer Engineering, where he has been for the past four and a half years. He is a forensic engineer, applying the knowledge he attained in receiving his bachelor’s degree in both mechanical engineering and materials science engineering/metallurgy at IIT. |

Coach Christy is starting her second year at Westmont Swim Club. Previously, she was an assistant coach at Lyons Swim Club for seven years. Christy began her competitive swimming career at 7 years old, and ever since then has been involved with the sport. She was an All-American swimmer with Lyons Township High School, and trained in the off season with Westmont Swim Club under the direction of Coach Dave Krotiak. She also was an All-State First team Water Polo player for LT, and continued her playing at the University of Illinois where she graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education/English. Christy began Coaching Swimming at the age of 16 and has coached High School, summer teams, winter clubs, college swim camps, and everything else in-between. She has been a Head Coach, an Assistant Coach, and even a YMCA swim instructor, and has worked with every ability of swimmers imaginable. When not coaching swimming, Christy is a mom to four, residing in Western Springs, and teaching Preschool at her local church. |

Coach Jason is entering his fifth year as a coach for the Westmont Swim Club. Over those years Jason has brought an incredible amount of fun and energy to practices and meets, especially the 8 and under spectacular meet. Jason was a swimmer at Westmont Swim Club, starting when he was seven years old. He is a graduate of St. Ignatius Prep in Chicago, where he swam and played water polo. A 2001 graduate of the University of Dayton, where he majored in Marketing. Prior to joining Westmont Coach Jason was the coach of the Clarendon Hills Sealions for five years in the summer. Coach Judy has been involved with Westmont Swim Club for sixteen years, longer than any other family currently on the team. She is the team manager, in charge of arranging all hotel and flight reservations for travel meets, team apparel, and many other tasks. She is also starting her fourth year as an Assistant Coach, working directly with the 10 and under groups. Judy graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Foods in Business. After a ten year career at Wendy's International and Johnson and Johnson, she "retired" to raise her two daughters, Sarah and Jennifer, who began swimming with Westmont in 1996. Beginning in the fall of 2012, both her daughters will be swimming for the University of Illinois. |

Coach Erin is entering her first year with Westmont Swim Club. Prior to joining the team, she's been an assistant coach for Hornet Swim Club for the past 6 years. Erin has been involved with coaching summer clubs, managing swim lessons and working with kids and families in the swimming community since her high school days.
Erin grew up in Hinsdale, IL and swam competitively since the age of 7. She competed on the varsity swim team at Hinsdale Central all four years, was a state qualifier two years as well as awarded All-State both junior and senior years for relay competition. Erin attended St. Mary's College where she studied Social Work and Psychology. She then moved home to complete her Master's in School Social Work at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Outside of coaching, Erin has worked for several years in Human Resources at various PR firms in the city. She recently relocated back to Chicago from Melbourne, Australia, where she's been living for the past year with her husband and daughter. Erin is now a full-time mom and is anxious to settle back into life at home.
She is thrilled to be joining the Westmont family and looks forward to many fun seasons to come!
